D90 does not auto-focus while filming video, even when an auto-focus lens is used.

I already mentioned it.

The D90 has excellent autofocus, but NOT IN THE VIDEO MODE. In fact it does NOT have continuous autofocus when shooting video.

I'm not familiar with the D90, but my D300s will auto focus using the AF ON button.

On D300s - in video tripod mode, the camera can BE FOCUSED by pressing the AF-ON button.

BUT it is not a CONTINUOUS FOCUSING.

Auto Focus is not available in HAND-HELD mode after recording starts.
